Heading into the first Süper Lig season in its history, Amedspor rebuilt its squad almost from scratch. In a transfer window that opened on 22 June and runs until 4 September, the club has strengthened every line, from goalkeeper to attack.
There are two names between the posts: Alban Lafont, with long spells in France and Italy, and Mustafa Burak Bozan, signed from Gaziantep FK. Three different profiles were added at centre-back — Scottish defender David Bates from Standard Liège, Lumbardh Dellova from CSKA Sofia, and Amadou Cissé from Strasbourg's reserve side. Umut Meraş arrived from Eyüpspor at left-back, while the gap at right-back was closed after the season began with Ali Turap Bülbül from Galatasaray.
In midfield, Rayan Raveloson from Young Boys and Furkan Soyalp from Kayserispor pair experience with work rate. Out wide there is Kosovo international Ermal Krasniqi from Sparta Prague and Berk Kızıldemir from Galatasaray's academy, with Zdravko Dimitrov joining from Mardin 1969 Spor. The group signing ceremony in early August added Samuel Ballet, Yira Sor, Mohamed Khalil, Gökhan Gül and Rayan Lutin to the list.
Read as a whole, the picture is clear: Amedspor has not come up to the Süper Lig as a visitor. Most of the arrivals have played in European leagues or at the top level in Turkey. That is the most concrete way a club can say it intends to stay. The window is open until 4 September, and there may yet be movement in the positions the coaching staff has flagged.
