In week three of the Süper Lig, Amedspor host Trabzonspor at Diyarbakır Stadium at 21:30 on Monday 31 August. It will be the first of Turkey's traditional powers to visit the club in the top flight.
Trabzonspor opened their season with a point, drawing 1-1 away at Kasımpaşa, while Amedspor finished the round top after their 3-0 win over Erzurumspor. Week two comes first, with Amedspor travelling to Kocaelispor on 24 August.
Diyarbakır Stadium drew an intense crowd for the Erzurumspor match on opening weekend. The Trabzonspor game will be its second Süper Lig hosting and its first genuinely big night. Scheduled for Monday evening, it will close out the round.
For Amedspor supporters, evenings like this are not measured in points alone. A club that spent years in the lower divisions, often in difficult circumstances, welcoming one of the most established sides in Turkish football to its own city, in front of its own stand, is an achievement in itself. Amed is waiting for the evening of 31 August.
