Goal of the week from Amedspor: a defence that has conceded five in five

Gift Orban's chip was voted the best goal of week four of the Trendyol Süper Lig. The goal of week one also came from Amedspor, from Dia Saba. Across the same five weeks Amedspor have conceded five goals.

The best goal of week four of the Trendyol Süper Lig was voted to be Amedspor's Gift Orban and his chip, in the league's social media poll. The vote closed on 11 September 2026. It was the second time this season that the goal of the week came from Amedspor: the best goal of week one was also theirs, Dia Saba's strike against Erzurumspor.

Two weeks, two goals

The week one goal came on 16 August in Amed, in the Erzurumspor match, which Amedspor won 3-0. The week four match was away at Kasımpaşa on 6 September and finished 2-2. Orban's chip won the poll.

Five matches have been played in five weeks and the goal of the week has gone to Amedspor twice. The number of votes cast is not given in the sources, so it is not given here.

Four weeks, five goals

A second figure went into circulation in the same days. After week four Amedspor had conceded 5 goals in four matches, and that figure put them among the teams with the fewest goals conceded in the league.

No stronger claim can be made here. In the same days the Kocaelispor press used the phrase "one of the two teams with the fewest goals conceded" about their own side. The figure of five may therefore be shared. The sentence the sources allow is this: after week four Amedspor were among the teams with the fewest goals conceded in the league. That they led it alone is not confirmed, and it is not written here.

Week five: the figure held

In the week five match in Amed on 13 September, Amedspor beat İstanbul Başakşehir 5-0 without conceding. After five matches the goals-against column therefore stayed at five: one a game.

Four of those five were conceded away from home — two against Kocaelispor, two against Kasımpaşa. In three matches in Amed the goal count against is one.

The ready-made sentence about promoted sides

There is a ready-made sentence for newly promoted sides: they concede, they cannot play well, they hang on. Amedspor's first five weeks do not bear it out. Five goals conceded in five matches. In two of those five weeks the best goal of the round came from Amedspor. Third place on ten points, 12 scored and 5 conceded.

There is nothing to argue about. The number is there.

The goalkeeper and the bench

Alban Lafont keeps goal. The club announced Lafont's signing on 22 July 2026, for the 2026-2027 season. The manager is Besnik Haşi.
